‘Great Man’ facing firearm related charges
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 25-year old man is facing a number of charges following an incident at the intersection of Paisley and Slipe Pen roads in Kingston on Tuesday, September 2.
Charged with shooting with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition is Lenroy Collins, otherwise called ‘Great Man’ or ‘Lenny Mattic’, of Gordon Road in Kingston.
Reports from the Denham Town Police are that at about 8: 20 pm, a man was walking along the roadway when he was pounced upon by Collins, with whom he had a prior dispute. It is alleged that Collins brandished a firearm and opened gunfire at the man, who managed to escape without injuries and reported the incident to the police.
Following an investigation, Collins was taken into custody and charged by detectives assigned to the Kingston Western Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) following a question and answer session. His court date is being finalised.
