All set Gin ‘N’ Juice 31
Popular party Gin ‘N’ Juice is poised to make its much-anticipated return on December 6, marking its 31st anniversary.
Scheduled for Devon House in St Andrew, and themed Gin ‘N’ Juice: The White Christmas Edition, it will be a vibrant celebration that immerses attendees in a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of the golden age of nightlife.
The event is designed to evoke the spirit of the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, a time when social gatherings were characterised by exuberant fun and a strong sense of community.
Co-promoter of the event Gregg Smith offered an in-depth explanation of the event’s theme.
“The term ‘white Christmas’ is widely recognised in various countries as a description of a winter season marked by substantial snowfall. In this context, my team and I have decided to embrace this enchanting idea by organising an all-white themed party. Our goal is to cultivate a festive ambiance that evokes the serene beauty of snow, even in the warm climate of Jamaica during this holiday season,” Smith told the Jamaica Observer.
“By incorporating elements that reflect the purity and charm of a snowy landscape, we aim to create a unique celebration that captures the spirit of Christmas while offering a delightful contrast to the tropical surroundings. Last year, when it was introduced, we got such a tremendous response from our patrons that every year moving forward, party people can expect a white Christmas in Jamaica,” he continued.
Musical juggling will be provided by Delano from Renaissance, Timmy from HMV, and the “Party Animal” Kurt Riley.
Smith also explained that the event is designed to serve as a sanctuary for individuals who have been working diligently to gather, package, and distribute donations to those impacted by Hurricane Melissa.
“Gin ‘N’ Juice aims to create a serene environment where these dedicated volunteers can take a much-needed break from their strenuous efforts. We aim to accomplish this by providing a space for relaxation. We acknowledge the emotional and physical toll that such humanitarian work can exert on individuals. They, themselves, will need that all-important outlet to relax for a night, drink a rum, and simply just take a breather,” the promoter said.
Smith further said that all preparations are being made to ensure a memorable staging.
