Love & Harmony Cruise delivers aid to Jamaica, promises continued relief efforts ahead of 2026 event

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Residents of Sandy Ground in St Elizabeth, Bluefields in Westmoreland, and Salt Spring and Barnett Lane in Montego Bay, St James, who suffered significant losses, damage and displacement due to the effects of Hurricane Melissa, were the recipients of essential supplies from the organisers of the Love & Harmony Cruise.

With the assistance of the Jamaica Constabulary Force and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Terrence Bent , the Love & Harmony team ensured secure and organised delivery of aid to hundreds of residents.

Each care package was deliberately and compassionately curated, containing building supplies, flashlights, food items, toiletries, sanitary products for women, construction gloves, tarpaulin, water, batteries, toys, clothing, shoes, and other necessities. This initiative marks Phase One of Love & Harmony Cruise’s ongoing commitment to Jamaica’s recovery, with further relief phases planned.

In an interview with Observer Online on Tuesday, Ronnie Tomlinson, director of marketing and public relations for Love & Harmony Cruise, said the residents were appreciative of the items that they received.

“The residents were deeply grateful and overwhelmingly receptive. Many of the communities we visited—Sandy Ground in St Elizabeth, Bluefields in Westmoreland, Salt Spring and Barnett Lane in Montego Bay—have faced unprecedented hardship in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa. Seeing the team arrive with care packages, building supplies, and essentials brought visible relief, comfort, and hope,” said Tomlinson, while adding “There were quite a few shut-in residents who were unable to walk to the area of collection, so we made sure to get to them as well.”
“Community members expressed heartfelt appreciation, with some sharing that these were the first supplies they had received since the hurricane. They welcomed the team with open arms; several residents spoke about how meaningful it was to feel seen and supported during such a difficult time. The sense of gratitude, resilience and emotional connection was profound.”

The Love & Harmony Cruise team has promised to continue ongoing support to the residents.

“ We will be returning to these communities, and we are actively exploring partnerships with additional organisations to expand our reach and impact. We are also creating avenues for our cruisers to contribute directly to ongoing hurricane-relief initiatives. When we dock in Jamaica next year, the Love & Harmony Cruise team will once again participate in on-the-ground relief efforts. This mission is continuous—our support is not a one-time act, but an ongoing commitment to the people of Jamaica,” Tomlinson disclosed.

“For seven years, Love & Harmony Cruise has proudly sailed with Jamaica at the center of our identity.  With nearly 85 per cent

of our cruisers either born in Jamaica or born to Jamaican parents, this island is not just a destination, it’s home. When Jamaica is in need, it is our responsibility and honor to stand with her. This relief effort is only the beginning,” Tomlinson assured.

The 2026 Love & Harmony Cruise, sailing April 1–6, 2026 from Miami, Florida to Ocho Rios, Jamaica and Freeport, Bahamas, will take place aboard the luxurious Norwegian Jewel, a world-class vessel known for its elevated comfort and premium amenities.

Guests aboard the Norwegian Jewel will enjoy multiple dining options, world-class entertainment; featuring Beres Hammond, Romain Virgo, Minister Marion Hall, Agent Sasco, Maxi Priest, Tanya Stephens, Pinchers, Carlene Davis among others.

“As we prepare to sail on the Norwegian Jewel, we will also be launching a special give-back initiative that allows our cruisers to support and participate in the ongoing recovery efforts for Hurricane Melissa. Out of many, one people, we are united in Love and Harmony,” Tomlinson shared.
