Golfview Hotel hosts job fair as part of recovery efforts for hospitality sector
MANCHESTER, Jamaica—Golfview Hotel in Mandeville on Wednesday, hosted a job fair for individuals in central Jamaica following the passage of Hurricane Melissa, which disrupted the hospitality sector.
The job fair offers opportunities in front office, security, maintenance, housekeeping, and food and beverage service.
This initiative forms part of Golfview Hotel’s wider recovery focus, where employment and stable income are recognised as central to rebuilding lives and strengthening the national economy.
“Golfview Hotel recognises that national recovery after Hurricane Melissa is about more than repairing physical structures; it is about restoring livelihoods and stability for families,” said Letesha Whyte, marketing and sales manager at Golfview Hotel and host of the job fair.
“Through this job fair, Golfview Hotel is creating employment opportunities in central Jamaica so that more households can rebuild their income, regain a sense of security, and actively participate in the recovery of Jamaica’s economy.”
Whyte noted that the hospitality industry remains an important engine for employment and local commerce in central Jamaica. By creating pathways to work, Golfview Hotel aims to support both the well-being of individual households and the resilience of the wider community.
