Miss Universe Jamaica falls during evening gown preliminary competition
Dr Gabrielle Henry, Jamaica’s representative at the 2025 Miss Universe international pageant, is said to be undergoing preliminary tests by doctors at the Paolo Rangsit Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand.
Henry fell from the stage, shortly after she competed in the evening gown preliminary competition, which took place Wednesday.
“She’s at the hospital and she has undergone some tests, which the doctors have indicated that she is not suffering any life threatening injuries. We ask that everyone keep Gabrielle in their prayers at this time,” Mark McDermoth, national director of the Miss Universe Jamaica Organisation told Observer Online.
Henry was accompanied to hospital by her sister and mother as well as representatives from the Miss Universe pageant.
Earlier this week, Henry competed in the national costume and swimwear preliminary competitions.
The coronation of the 74th Miss Universe is scheduled to take place this Thursday, November 20 at the Impact Challenger Hall Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Delegates from 120 countries are participating in the pageant.
Among the Jamaicans who have had top ten placements at the Miss Universe pageant are 1989 — Sandra Foster, Kimberly Mais — 1991, Nicole Haughton — 1999, Christine Straw — 2004, Yendi Phillips — 2nd place — 2010, Kaci Fennell — 2014, Davina Bennett — 2017 and Miqueal Symone Williams — 2020.
