UPDATE: Section of Mandela Highway closed after police shooting

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Motorists are being advised that the westbound lane of the Mandela Highway in the vicinity of the entrance to the PJ Patterson Highway has been closed following a fatal shooting on Wednesday.

Reports are that three men were shot and killed by the police sometime after 12:00 pm. The police are still on the scene conducting investigations.

As a result, the eastbound lane has turned into two-way traffic.

Drivers are being advised to exercise caution, obey traffic directions and expect minor delays while travelling through the area.
