Rideallday to change ownership before lucrative Mouttet Mile

In a significant turn of events, Solomon Sharpe, the owner of Rideallday, has announced that the three-year-old American-bred grey/roan colt will be sold to a new owner before the Mouttet Mile on December 6, 2025.

Sharpe revealed that he had been approached by interested buyers who wanted to purchase the horse for the prestigious event, but they didn’t follow through on their initial interest. Now, it seems they’re willing to pay a premium.

“When we went to the sale and bought this horse, I said this horse looks like the Mouttet Mile horse, now the nerves are on,” Sharpe said.

“But this is my last run as the owner of Rideallday. Some ladies have to pay extra now because they have been dilly-dallying with their cheques. They wanted to buy a horse for the Mouttet Mile and I told them to buy Rideallday before the Mouttet Mile and come and lead him on Jamaica Cup race day but they didn’t show up. The phone is ringing now. The new owner is coming to the Mouttet Mile,” Sharpe further said.

Rideallday’s impressive win in the Port Royal Sprint on November 16, 2025, has likely increased his value, and Sharpe is looking to cash in on the horse’s success. The Mouttet Mile is a Grade One event with a historic purse of US$300,000, making it a prime opportunity for Rideallday’s new owner to compete against top-class horses.

With Ian “Dolly Baby” Spence in the saddle, Rideallday came from behind runners to the Graded Stakes contest for three-year-olds and upward over 6 furlongs (1,200m) by a length and a half.

Pack Plays, ridden by Raddesh Roman, Desert of Malibu with Dane Dawkins up, and Dothraki guided by Robert Halledeen, clashed in a thrilling battle for the early lead. Rideallday, positioned by Spence on the inside rails, waited patiently for the perfect moment to strike. As the leaders navigated the half-mile turn, Monkey Market, with Paul Francis in the saddle, burst onto the scene, adding to the intensity.

In a heart-pounding finale, Spence summoned his mount, and Rideallday delivered a stunning surge to snatch the win just in time. Desert of Malibu took second, while Pack Plays settled for third. The Port Royal Sprint’s winning time was 1:12.2. The win secured Rideallday’s spot in the Mouttet Mile.

Philip Feanny, Rideallday’s trainer, was matter-of-fact about their Port Royal Sprint win. “We had already qualified; this was just a prep towards the Mouttet Mile,” he said, downplaying the victory.

Feanny believes the handicaps were stacked against Rideallday.

“Coming into this race, the handicaps were against him, as everybody knows; Desert of Malibu was handicapped and should have won the race. Six furlongs was a bit short for Rideallday but I think he needed a little sharpener going into the Mouttet Mile and that’s why we decided to run here,” Feanny said.

Rideallday, bred by Vekoma out of the Unbridled’s Song mare Song of Hours, has now won seven races from nine starts and has earned over $6.7 millions in Stakes.
