Alleged axe murderer charged
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 20-year-old man has been charged with murder after allegedly chopping a woman and then calling the police on Saturday.
Charged is 20-year-old Kevin Williams of Second Avenue, Vineyard Town, Kingston 3.
Dead is 58-year-old Rosemarie Samuels of the same address.
Reports from the police are that at about 9:00 pm, Williams and a woman had a dispute during which he left and returned with an axe.
He reportedly used the instrument to chop the woman to the back of her neck then summoned the police.
Upon the arrival of the lawmen, the woman was seen lying on a bed face down in a pool of blood. She was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Williams was subsequently taken into custody, where he was charged following a question-and-answer session in the presence of two justices of the peace.
His court date is being finalised.
