Manchester High make winning start to ISSA basketball title defence
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Double defending champions Manchester High made a winning start to the Inter- secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Rural Area Basketball competition after beating Munro College in both sections, Under-16 and Under- 19 at Manchester High on Monday as the competition resumes.
The start of the competition was pushed back almost a month due to the passage of Hurricane Melissa in late October.
St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) also had a double win over Christiana High in their Zone A encounters, while Old Harbour High and Belair split their games.
Manchester High beat Munro College 95-18 in the Under-19 game with Shawn Bogle scoring 20 points, after winning the Under-16 game 110-13 with Jaquain Palmer scoring a game high 28 points.
STETHS beat Christiana High 21-8 in the junior game and 69-17 in the seniors.
In the other games, Belair High beat Old Harbour High 56-30 in the Under -19 game after Old Harbour High had won the Under-16 game 45-20.
