In an official statement, Yacé said her journey in the pageant world had shown her what she was capable of overcoming, but that stepping away is necessary to continue pursuing her goals with integrity.
“To continue on this path, I must remain true to my values: respect, dignity, excellence and equl opportunity,” she said, noting that she intends to dedicate herself fully to defending the principles she holds dear.
The Ivorian beauty queen expressed a desire to serve as a role model for younger generations, especially girls, encouraging them to embrace their identities and push beyond perceived limitations. She also issued a call to Black, African, Caribbean, American and Afro-descendant communities to keep entering spaces where they may not be expected.
“Our presence matters, and our voices must be heard,” Yacé said.
Yacé extended congratulations to the newly crowned Miss Universe and offered well wishes to Miss Universe Jamaica, Dr Gabrielle Henry sharing hopes for a swift recovery for the island following recent challenges. She also expressed gratitude to supporters and reflected on the profound impact her experiences had on her.
While stepping down from her regional title and relinquishing future affiliation with the Miss Universe Committee, Yacé emphasised that her mission to uplift and inspire continues. Signing off her statement, she said, “It’s time for Africa.”
