Digital One books Mouttet Mile spot with Alsafra Trophy win
Gary Subratie’s Digital One has staked her claim for the ultra-rich Mouttet Mile (US$300,000) after a commanding win in the $1.25-million Alsafra Trophy feature at Caymanas Park on Sunday, November 23, 2025.
The victory in the Overnight Allowance contest over 7 ½ furlongs (1,500m) earned her $682,000, boosting her stakes earnings to $3,139,550 and securing 14th on the Mouttet Mile entry list of 16 — a position that now puts her in the mix for Jamaica’s biggest race.
Subratie confirmed her next target with measured optimism:
“I think of racing her in the Mouttet Mile because she has gone up in terms of Stakes earnings where she has a chance to get it,” Subratie told the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide.
“So I am more thinking of racing her in the Mouttet Mile. Some decent horses are in the Mouttet Mile and I think it is going to be a very tough race. It is left to be seen. I think Rohan Crichton’s horse
Legacy Isle and Anthony Nunes’ Nautical Star, the race should run between,” Subratie added.
When asked about Digital One’s chances in the December-6 Mouttet Mile, Subratie was succinct.
“Unless Digital One shows up and whops them; but I don’t know,” he said.
Ridden by Dane Dawkins, Digital One sat in second position behind Neo Star (Jerome Innis) for most of the way, picked up the lead at the top of the straight, and outbattled Supremasi (Dick Cardenas) in deep stretch to claim her third victory for the second from nine starts. Divine Force (Raddesh Roman) finished third in the race. The four-year-old American-bred bay filly Digital One stopped the clock in 1:33.3.
“He [Dane Dawkins] knows her more than anybody else. I think he won the first race on her and he has been doing well with her. She has been consistent, she has been winning her races, and she keeps things going. She is young; she is only four years old. She is going to get a little better, and so let’s see what happens next,” Subratie said.
