Nelson nails third win at Woodbine
Dane Nelson continued to make his presence felt at Woodbine Racetrack in Canada. The Jamaican jockey scored his third win at the iconic track, guiding Jose Russo-trained Pretty Liza (16-1) to a thrilling length-and-a-half victory in the CAN$25,000 Maiden Optional Claiming over seven furlongs on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
The filly powered home ahead of Call Me Kaykay (Ryan Munger) and Aint No Girly Girl (Emma-Jayne Wilson), capping a solid performance. This win follows Nelson’s recent successes at Woodbine on
Love You Lippy (November 20) and Computer Hacker (November 14).
The post-race report reads as follows: “PRETTY LIZA narrowly had her head in front along the backside, dueled on the rail around the turn still having a slim lead, shifted out to the three-path clinging up front turning for home, kept finding more under a busy ride at the furlong pole and prevailed at the wire for the frontrunning score.”
