Alliance Financial expands footprint with two new branches

ALLIANCE Financial Services Limited (AFSL) is widening its presence in the retail financial services market with two new service points, one in New Kingston and another in May Pen, Clarendon.

The May Pen branch at Millennium Mall opened on November 21, while the New Kingston outlet at the R Danny Williams Building, previously home to Paymaster, opened on Monday, December 1. The two locations will offer bill payment services for Sagicor Life premiums and Sagicor Bank credit cards, as well as payments for the National Water Commission and Jamaica Public Service.

AFSL’s Millennium Mall branch is also offering cambio and remittance services, with additional features expected to be rolled out in the coming months, the company has said.

These openings mark another step in AFSL’s rebuilding journey. The company originally built its name as a cambio and remittance provider after launching in 2004, but its operations were disrupted several years ago when regulatory issues affected entities within the wider Alliance group. Sagicor Group’s acquisition allowed AFSL to restore its licences and restart operations under a new structure that prioritises compliance, improved governance, and a broader service model.

The new branches suggest that the company is now intent on reshaping its role in the market. Instead of focusing solely on remittances and foreign exchange, AFSL is now positioning itself as a more complete payments outlet that allows consumers to settle everyday bills while also accessing traditional cambio and remittance services. The addition of these locations is particularly meaningful for customers in Clarendon where access to convenient, multi-service financial centres remains more limited than in the Corporate Area.

AFSL CEO Omar Brown said the expansion is part of the company’s effort to make day-to-day financial transactions easier for Jamaicans. He noted that the new outlets were selected with accessibility and convenience in mind, especially for customers who depend on in-person bill payment and utility services.

“Alliance is committed to making every day financial transactions more accessible and convenient for Jamaicans. By expanding our operations we are ensuring that clients continue to benefit from reliable, efficient bill payment services in central, easily accessible locations,” Brown said.

The expansion also aligns with Sagicor Group Jamaica’s wider ambition to deepen its service reach beyond traditional banking halls. Through AFSL the group can tap into a customer base that values fast, easy transactions and prefers walk-in service points over digital-only channels.
