Business owners urged to pay up for signage
The revelation came from an ongoing audit of signs and billboards in the Corporate Area to determine which signs have been erected legally within the KSAMC, including on billboards, inside malls and plazas.
The audit aims to identify and regularise operators delinquent in their payments. Officials urged affected business owners to report to the KSAMC offices to settle outstanding fees and avoid further enforcement.
“Some have not even sought to get approval from us. As a result of this I am making an appeal to all business operators. This is an appeal for persons to come in and formalise these signs and billboards that have been erected,” said City Inspector Alrick Francis.
The audit began on December 1 with areas including Hagley Park Road, Eastwood Park Road and Washington Boulevard already inspected.
