Gunners face tough test at Villa Park

In-form Premier League teams Aston Villa and Arsenal will go head-to-head in a mouth-watering clash on Saturday morning, then on Sunday, reigning Serie A Champions Napoli will host the “Old Lady”, Juventus, in a massive Serie A showdown.

Event # 1 – EPL – Aston Villa vs Arsenal – 7:30 AM

Aston Villa and Arsenal both secured victories as the December mid-week fixtures kicked off a busy sets of games, The Villans were the more impressive of the two sides as they came back from two first half goals away at Brighton,to beat the Seagulls 4-3, and moved into third in the league standing, six points behind their upcoming opponents, Arsenal. Indeed, Aston Villa made a poor start to the 2025 campaign but have been impressive in the last few months, chalking up wins after wins, and the victory over Brighton made it six consecutive wins in all competitions. When playing at home, Aston Villa are very tough to beat and will provide a stern test to Arsenal’s title credentials on Saturday. The Villans enter this contest as the most in-form side in the Premier League, having secured 25 points from their last 10 games, more than any other side in the league. But more impressively, Aston Villa has won the last eight home games and failed to score in only one of the last 15 overall matches.

League leaders and title favourites, Arsenal, enters this crucial game off the back of another impressive victory, this time a 2-0 win over Brentford, at home. However, travelling away to face Aston Villa will provide a clearer picture of the Gunners title credentials, if they were to leave Villa Park with a win, which would take them eight points clear at the top of the league. Arsenal will go into this game having drawn their last two away matches against Sunderland and Chelsea and will be eager to return to winning ways on their travels. Their slight dip in form away from home will be of some concern to Arsenal fans as Aston Villa are unbeaten in three of their last four games against Arsenal, and with confidence running high in the Villa camp, the Gunners will have to be at their best to secure the victory tomorrow.

Key Stats

• Aston Villa – has won the last eight home matches and has won two of the last four matches against Arsenal in the league.

• Arsenal – has drawn the last two away matches in the Premier League, while the last time both teams met back in January, the game ended 2-2.

• Both sides – Aston Villa is unbeaten in three of the last four matches against Arsenal.

The betting tip: Arsenal win or draw.

Event # Serie A – Napoli vs Juventus – 2:45 PM

Reigning Serie A champions, Napoli, will welcome Juventus to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Sunday, in an eagerly anticipated clash that could go a far way in determining the destination of this season’s Serie A title.Napoli enter this game after overcoming Cagliari on penalties in mid-week Coppa Italia action, as they were held 1-1 at home. However, after a slow start to their Serie A campaign, Napoli have begun to find the form that led them to the title last season, having won three consecutive matches before their Coppa Italia win on penalties in mid-week, while they have lost just one of their last nine matches. The side from Naples will enter this massive encounter with confidence high after they defeated Roma away 0-1 last weekend, to signal their intention that they intend to defend the crown they won last season. Indeed, at home, Napoli has been near perfect, having won five and drawn one of the previous six league games.

Meanwhile, Juventus arrives in Naples following a comfortable 2-0 Coppa Italia victory against Udinese on Tuesday. The ‘Old Lady’, Juventus, have picked up some form in recent weeks, with three straight wins on the trot, coming off three straight draws in November, a run that hindered their progress towards the top of the league standing. However, with their three straight wins, Juventus are now unbeaten in eight games since losing 1-0 to Lazio five weeks ago and will arrive in Naples with confidence of securing a result against the defending champions and league leaders. However, while Juventus is usually strong at home, they have been less impressive on their travels having picked up just eight points from six Serie A away games so far this season (W2, D2, L2).

Key Stats

• Napoli– has won nine of the last 11 home matches in Serie A and is now unbeaten in the last 17 overall matches.

• Juventus – has lost two of the last six away matches in Serie A but is unbeaten in the last eight matches.

• Both sides – Juventus has lost the last six away matches against Napoli in the league.

The betting tip: Napoli win.
