Run Julie Run looks to defend Chairman’s crown

...Divine Force the main threat

Twelve horses are down to compete in the fourth running of the US$40,000 Chairman’s Plate, an Overnight Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward going nine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m) at Caymanas Park tomorrow.

Below is the analysis of each runner and their chances of winning.

1. OIL MACHINE: (4 ch c by Bern Identity – Keep the Faith) – Out of contention here. No class. No chance.

2. IMMEASURABLE JOY: (4 b f by War Correspondent – Moon over Mallorca) – Will struggle to keep up. Not the pedigree or form for this league.

3. PROVIDENT: (4 ch c by Sensational Slam – Dream Point) – The distance is right, but class isn’t. Provident won’t trouble the leaders.

4. NEO STAR: (6 b h by Neolithic – Angel Dreams) – No signs of winning form.

5. RUN JULIE RUN: (4 gr f by Successful Native – Runaway Julie) – Classy filly who won this race last year. Run Julie Run comes into this race following her third-place finish in the Jamaica Cup (9 ½ furlongs/1,900m) behind Mojito and Girvano. She is pretty comfortable against these and should take it again.

6. DIVINE FORCE (USA): (5 b h by Alternation – Dance America) – Finished a good third behind Digital One and Supremasi over 7 ½ furlongs (1,500m) on November 23. Divine Force was seen making strong headway in deep stretch, making him a very dangerous contender at this two-turn distance. He has a live chance of winning.

7. PRETTY PERFECT: (3 b f by Sensational Slam – Black Bombshell) – Best to avoid. Flashy name, not flashy form.

8. SHEER DELIGHT (USA): (4 dk b c by Girvin – Pantyhouse) – Capable on his day. Sheer Delight, while not expected to win, should run a decent race.

9. I DREAM AGAIN: (3 b c by Soul Warrior – Lady Najariya) – This year’s Jamaica Derby winner who bypassed the Mouttet Mile to run here. I Dream Again have been dismal in his three runs at the level, but he is expected to bounce back with a good effort here.

10. BLUE VINYL : (6 ch h by Bern Identity – Blufield) – Fairly consistent sort who was down the track in the October 4 Gold Cup. He is better suited here and is expected to run good.

11. UNRULY MO (USA): (3 b c by Outwork – Snakeinthegrass) – Looks well stretch out here.

12. MACK AND ROME: (4 b c by Bold Conquest – Gold Mind) – No shot. Pack mule.
