Sweet scents of Kez-I Kollections impress at launch

GUESTS were in awe last Saturday as Kesi Asher-Dawkins launched her Kez-I Kollections of scented candles.

Asher Dawkins, a member of the Jamaica Observer team, has carefully hand-poured the scented candles which make up Kez-I Kollections.

Speaking at the launch, held at Christar Villas Hotel in St Andrew, Asher-Dawkins explained that the name of the collection is a play on her first name, Casey but spelt Kesi, and pronounced Kez-I by Edge 105 FM announcer Ron Muschette.

Edge 105 FM presenter Welsey “Burgerman” Burger brought the vibes to the event as guests let go of their inhibitions and enjoyed the evening.

A range of candles — including vase combos — were on sale, giving attendees a chance to sample the many scents which make up the collection.

These include Honeydew Kiss, Sandalwood, Jasmine, Rustic Romance, Lavender, Rose, Peppermint, and Citrus Marinade.

Reflecting on their journey to the launch Garfield Dawkins, Kesi’s husband, pointed out that it had been a tough process to get to this stage.

“Trust me, it’s a lot of work — and some of that work…goes over on me. But she really means well, and it is a product that she really, really loves, so I am just here to support her to the best,” said Dawkins.

One guest, Karyn Johnson, was blown away by the range of scents on offer.

“She has a love for candles and she wants to share them with us. It also broadened what I think of candles, that they’re not just for hurricane purposes. At least I now know that there are different fragrances and the sort of calming feeling that they give to the spirit,” said Johnson.

One guest, Alice Manhurst, said she travelled to the launch because she is an ardent listener of Edge 105 FM, “and I love hearing Kesi’s laugh”.

For Asher Dawkins, the support she received at the launch was overwhelming.

“I am just so elated. My family came, my friends, and even the listeners. I am just so out of my mind — and the feedback is good, so I am very happy for that,” said Asher-Dawkins, Edge 105 FM’s main newsreader and sometimes disc jockey.

Kez-I Kollections will be available all year, with special seasonal offerings and a facility for people to order personalised packages.
