Funds from delayed JN Bank wire finally reach New York account
Dear Claudienne,
On August 13, 2025, I did a wire transfer of cash US$12,241.20 to the May Pen branch of Jamaica National Bank. The cash transfer was to be put into the account of a contractor who I contracted to do a project.
However, even though my bank in New York sent all the relevant documents and information to authenticate this transaction to JN Bank, the contractor had difficulties receiving this cash.
After several unsuccessful attempts to get the cash, the contractor instructed the JN bank to cancel the transaction and return the money to my bank account in New York.
I actually came to Jamaica and went to the JN Bank May Pen branch and requested that the money be sent back to my New York bank account. I was told that the bank was doing an investigation into the matter, and that within 90 days the money would be reflected in my New York bank account.
However, to date JN has not sent the money to my New York bank account. To each person you speak to, you’re told something different.
Your help in this matter will be highly appreciated.
DJ
