Liberian sprinter among seven athletes joining Enhanced Games
LAS VEGAS, United States — As the new sporting spectacle prepares to launch in May 2026 seven new athletes have joined the Enhanced Games including Liberia’s fastest man over 100 metres, Emmanuel Matadi.
Matadi set a 100m National Record of 9.91s in the event in 2024.
His participation in the Enhanced Games, which will allow athletes to use performance-enhancing drugs to compete and challenge records for large cash prizes, was announced on Monday.
Matadi is the third sprinter confirmed for the Games, after the United States’ Fred Kerley and France’s Mouhamadou Fall.
Joining Matadi are:
Polish National Finalist and Collegiate sprinter Natalia Fryckowska (swimming)
Pan American Champion & World Championship Bronze Medalist Beatriz Pirón (weightlifting)
Brazilian World Championship Medalist & Pan Am Gold Medalist Felipe Lima (swimming)
Columbian Olympian & Multiple National Record Holder Isabella Arcila (swimming)
Russian Olympian, World Junior Champion & ACC Champion Evgenii Somov (swimming)
Irish Olympian & Irish National Record Holder Max McCusker (swimming)
The Games, which are at odds with the traditional stance on doping in international competition, claim to celebrate human potential through safe transparent enhancement while offering record payment.
So far 50 athletes have joined the Enhanced Games.
The inaugural event is expected to begin on May 24, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
