Eight arrested in Manchester, ammo seized
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Police in Manchester are reporting that eight people were detained in relation to lottery scamming and the possession of ammunition during an operation on Tuesday morning.
Operations Officer for Manchester, Deputy Superintendent Luhas Daniels, said the operation spanned from 4:00 am to 9:00 am.
He added that charges have been laid on three people so far.
“During a police operation in the Manchester division in the districts of Top Hill (near Christiana), Greenvale, Mike Town and Hatfield, eight persons were taken into custody. Two for which were charged for breaches of the Law Reform Act and one for unlawful possession of ammunition,” he said.
“The ammunition includes 11 5.56, two .380 and seven 9mm cartridges,” he added.
