JPS team cops top award at international competition for ‘Shine On’ campaign
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) Company has won platinum at the 2025 Viddy Awards for its “Shine On” television advertisement which was launched in May this year.
The Viddy Awards is an international competition honouring video excellence in a digital world, and its platinum award— its top honour— is presented to entries judged among the most outstanding in the competition. Winners are recognised for their excellence in terms of quality, creativity and resourcefulness.
According to JPS, the award-winning campaign, which featured energy ambassador Ding Dong and reggae songbird Lila Ike, underscored the company’s deep-rooted commitment to nation building, service excellence and powering what matters most.
The company said the award jury lauded the campaign for its authentic storytelling, creativity and innovative messaging.
“We are deeply honoured to receive this award for a campaign that represents the heart of what we do at JPS,” Winsome Callum, the director of corporate communications at JPS said in a news release. “Shine On reflects our belief that even in challenging times, there is extraordinary strength and brilliance in the team that works to power homes, dreams, hopes — Jamaica. Special thanks to our Ad Agency, Engine Room, for working with us to bring Shine On to life.”
This award is the company’s latest addition to several international awards for advertising excellence. In 2024, JPS won four American Advertising Awards (Addys) for their energy conservation campaign, “Keep Yuh Cool”, in partnership with Mystique Integrated; and a Telly Award in 2014 for their “Power On” campaign in partnership with AdMark.
Viddy Awards is administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, an international organisation that oversees awards and recognition programmes honouring outstanding achievement and service in the industry.
