Manchester High double up Christiana High in ISSA basketball
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Defending champions Manchester High scored a double win over Christiana High, beating them in both sections of the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Rural Area boys’ basketball competition on Wednesday.
Led by a triple-double from Shamar Bogle, Manchester High won the Under-19 game 106-14 after they had won the Under-16 game 93-10.
Bogle scored 31 points, had 10 steals and 10 assists, while Omar Daley had a double-double 29 points and 14 rebounds.
In the Under-16 game, Jacquan Palmer scored 23 points to lead Manchester High to another win.
Meanwhile on Tuesday, Knox College also had a double win over St Elizabeth Technical; Herbert Morrison won their fifth straight in the Under-16 and York Castle High beat Muschett in their Under-16 game.
Knox College outscored St Elizabeth Technical High School13-3 in the final quarter to win the Under-19 game (51-43) with Shemari Walker scoring 18 points to lead the charge.
In the Under-16 encounter Deron Richards scored a game high 21points and Kobi Tee scored 20 points, as Knox College won 88-14, limiting STETHS to single digit scoring in all four quarters.
Shamar Russell had a triple-double of 23 points, 10 rebounds and 16 steals as Herbert Morrison ran by Holland High 98-8 and were ahead 57-0 at half time.
York Castle, who were led by Marcodean Frater’s 24 points, beat Muschett High 72-38.
