Ce’Cile looks to Europe
...new music on the way
In the late 2000s, dancehall artiste, producer, and music executive Ce’Cile achieved quite an enviable fan base outside of Jamaica. Her popularity in Germany soared, and she has toured the country at least once a year since then.
“Germany is one of my biggest markets and I actually look forward to performing there each time,” Ce’Cile told the Jamaica Observer recently.
When the summer festivals in Europe kick off next year, Ce’Cile will once again hit the road in Germany and other countries.
“I will be in Europe for the summer, specifically Germany has been confirmed so far. But we are adding more stops as we go along,” the I’m Waiting singer says.
Songs like When You’re Gone, the club banger Hot Like We, and Changez have seen Ce’Cile climb mainstream charts in Germany over the years.
However, other songs including Can You Do Di Wuk with Sean Paul, Cheaters Revenge and Nah Stress Ova Man have kept her on the dancehall radar earning fans locally and globally.
Ce’Cile will kick off 2026 with shows in the Bahamas, Africa, and the United States.
She shared with the Observer that new music is on the way.
“I have a project coming out. Yes. And I have releases with other artistes that I am producing as well. For the EP, I just want to focus on some music that I have grown to love over the years. I kinda stayed away from covers, but I hope to do some for this EP. That’s really the direction I want for this,” Ce’Cile disclosed.
She added:, “For the EP, I am hoping to get some people on maybe two tracks, singers mostly, so I’m scouting possibilities now. I want to work with artistes that I personally like and who I think would fit the songs that I like.”
Ce’Cile has been working closely with artistes like Soun Bwoii and Tanzie and, contrary to popular belief, she is not managing artistes.
“I do a lot of production, and I help the artistes I’m producing until they find good management. I actually don’t like artiste management at all. I don’t have the time for it; it really is a full-time job, and it takes a lot of dedication and networking,” she said.
Along with some of her friends, including track athlete Danielle Williams, Ce’Cile embarked on hurricane relief activities in St Elizabeth, giving back to people who were affected by the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
“I partnered with Danielle Williams and, between her and I, and some of our friends we were able to make two trips to St Elizabeth quite early after the hurricane. We do plan to go back, we are awaiting some more donations that were shipped in,” said Ce’Cile.
Last year, Ce’Cile’s 2010 UK Top 30 hit Gold Dust with DJ Fresh was certified triple platinum in the United Kingdom for sales and streaming exceeding 1.8 million units.
