23-y-o trader charged with murder
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder after the stabbing death of a 35-year-old man in Penn Avenue, Kingston 11 on December 15.
The deceased has been identified as Richard Walker, otherwise called ‘Richie’, of Penn Avenue.
Adonii Hayles, otherwise called ‘Bobo’, a trader also of the community has been charged in connection to his death.
Reports from the Hunts Bay police are that about 8:20 pm, an argument between Hayles and Walker escalated into a fight and was later parted by Hayles’ family members.
It is further reported that Hayles left the location and then returned with a knife, which was used to inflict several stab wounds to Walker’s body.
Following the stabbing, Walker was assisted to hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
Hayles turned himself in to the police in the company of a family member later the same day and was subsequently charged a day later.
His court date is being finalised.
