Muschett High win double against Holland in ISSA basketball
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — Muschett High scored a double win, beating Holland High in two Under-16 games in ISSA Rural Area Zone B boys’ basketball competition played at Holland High on Wednesday.
These were the first wins for Muschett High, who had lost all their games played this season.
In the first game, Muschett won 43-30, coming from behind in the second half of the match then running away to an easier 45-8 margin in the second game.
Holland High led by a point 6-5 after the first quarter and were still leading at half-time 19-13 before Muschett High rallied in the third quarter to take over the lead 31-23, and cruised to a win.
Darren Gibson had a double-double for Muschett High with a game-high 23 points and 11 rebounds, along with seven steals, while Ajanie Ranger scored 12 points and had six rebounds.
Antwan Wint scored 11 points and had six rebounds, while Yenel Cunningham scored eight points and had nine rebounds.
It was all Muschett High in the second game as they led 16-0 after the first quarter, 27-4 at half-time and 37-8 going into the fourth quarter, with Darren Gibson scoring 16 points and Ranger getting 13 points.
