Three family members hacked to death in Rocky Point, relative in custody
CLARENDON, Jamaica —Three persons were hacked to death in a reported dispute among family members in the Frazersfield area of Rocky Point in Clarendon on Thursday night.
The deceased have been identified as Lynval Henry, 32, a fisherman of Frazersfield, Rocky Point; Annette Lindo, a domestic helper and vendor of the same address; and Ingrid Keisha Lindo, a vendor of West End, Rocky Point, Clarendon.
Preliminary reports indicate that about 9:10 pm, the police were alerted to an incident at a residence in the community. On their arrival, the three victims were found with chop wounds and were later pronounced dead at the scene.
Observer Online understands that a dispute developed between Henry and another family member at the home during which Henry was chopped. Annette and her sister Ingrid were also chopped during their attempted to intervene in the altercation.
A male relative was taken into custody shortly after the incident and is assisting investigators. No charges have been laid at this time.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) says it has launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and is continuing enquiries to establish the sequence of events that led to the deaths.
Investigations are ongoing, and anyone with information that may assist the investigation is being asked to contact the police or Crime Stop, the JCF stated in a release.
