Toll collection for May Pen to Williamsfield set for December 27, says TJH
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — TransJamaican Highway Limited (TJH) says the tolling of the May Pen to Williamsfield leg is set to commence within a week’s time.
In a post on Instagram on Saturday afternoon, TJH said motorists can look forward to a first-world roadway supported by 24-hour patrols and consistent maintenance as it will officially launch operations at that section of the PJ Patterson Highway on December 27, 2025.
“Our commitment is to deliver a safe, reliable and efficient driving experience across this new section in a manner that is consistent with our offerings on all legs of the TransJam Highways network. In order to deliver these services sustainably, we will introduce a toll rate structure at both the Toll Gate-Main Line Toll Plaza and the Toll Gate-Ramp Toll Plaza,” the post read in part.
“In keeping with current practices across all TransJam Highways toll plazas, T-Tag users will benefit from lower toll rates for every passage, as well as automatic Frequent User Discounts, including the 10th trip free through each toll plaza each week,” the post added.
The announcement follows a revelation last Tuesday by the Ministry of Transport of the proposed tolls for the Williamsfield to May Pen leg of Highway 2000, with the highest costs at $1,400.
TJH in its post indicated that the costs by vehicle class are class one $480, class two $720, and class three $1400. T-Tag users will pay class one $470, class two $700 and class three $1,400 for the mainline, while the toll at the ramp will be half the cost per class.
