Uplift dreams of international success with Fantasy
Dancehall artiste Uplift is confident that his new single, titled Fantasy, featuring Nigerian Afrobeat artiste Pupa Tee, will be a worldwide hit.
“I was working on this song a few years ago but I never recorded it officially. When I met Pupa Tee online we discussed the possibility of doing a collaboration and I shared the demo version with him. He loved it so much we decided to work together and complete it. From the moment I heard the final mix I knew it had the potential to be a huge international hit,” said the artiste.
The song which was produced by him and released on his Uplift Entertainment imprint, along with a video which was filmed in Lagos, Nigeria, is currently enjoying heavy rotation.
“My team and I believe that Fantasy is going to bring me global success. We’re currently promoting it in Jamaica, Canada, Africa, the US, England, and Europe. So far our promotional campaigns in these territories are yielding great results. Over the past two months we’ve seen a significant increase in the Spotify streams for Fantasy and some of my other songs. The video for Fantasy is also doing well on YouTube,” said Uplift.
The St Elizabeth-born deejay, who resides in Canada, is currently working on several new projects which he plans to release next year.
“I’m working on some new singles that I plan to drop in the coming year. I may also drop an EP or an album; 2026 is going to be a big year for me,” he said.
Some of Uplift’s other songs are Infinite, which was done with reggae singer Hezron; Call Me featuring Tallis; and Ride With Me.
