Burger King New Kingston reopens following major renovation
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Burger King Jamaica has officially reopened its New Kingston restaurant one year after it was badly damaged by a fire.
The restaurant was reopened last week after a comprehensive renovation in what the company says shows a renewed investment in customer experience and operational standards. This comes amidst the company’s plans to expand across the island in the coming weeks.
According to Burger King’s Senior Brand Manager for the New Kingston location, Orion Aitken, it has been fully upgraded with modern equipment and enhanced layouts with the renovations designed for overall guest comfort.
“When customers come to the renovated New Kingston restaurant, they will see a brand new store as just about every aspect is new. The store was redesigned to improve efficiency and service delivery, while maintaining customer satisfaction and stakeholder safety,” said Aitken.
He said during the renovation period, Burger King ensured continuity of care for its team members, with staff reassigned where possible and supported through ongoing staff initiatives. The majority of employees have since returned to work at various locations, resuming service to customers and the surrounding community.
Aitken said the reopening reinforces Burger King’s commitment to maintaining high standards across its restaurant network while continuing to serve one of Kingston’s most dynamic commercial hubs.
He pointed out that the upgraded New Kingston restaurant forms part of Burger King’s broader growth strategy across Jamaica.
Its parent company, Restaurant Associates Limited (RAL) continues to invest heavily in its quick-service restaurant brands, with each new or renovated location representing an average investment of approximately $250 million and generating meaningful employment opportunities within local communities.
On December 30, Burger King New Kingston will host a Customer Appreciation Day, providing the first 500 customers with a free large serving of fries. This is to commemorate the reopening of the store and to share a token of gratitude with their loyal guests for once again receiving the brand into the community.
“New Kingston is an important commercial centre, and we are pleased to welcome customers back to a refreshed Burger King location that reflects our commitment to quality, safety, and service,” said Community Communications and Strategy Executive for RAL, Rashai Graham.
He said the Restaurant Associates Limited team is excited to open two more stores to the public at Old Harbour and Spanish Town Road before the end of this year.
Graham said with this, Restaurant Associates Limited will continue its mission of steady expansion and investment in communities islandwide.
