‘My mission is done’: Popular crime vlogger Sir P says he’s signing off
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Popular crime vlogger Sir P of Politricks Watch has announced that he is stepping away from YouTube.
Sir P shared the news in a video uploaded to his channel just after midday, titled “All Lame Things Must Come To An End… Sir P Says Goodbye To YouTube (No Me Naw Joke).” In just two hours, the video has racked up over 13,000 views.
“It’s time to call it quits. In life, you have to know when fi call it quits,” the voice fans have come to know and love said.
The vlogger explained that he was stepping away from YouTube as he had completed his mission.
“Some of you might be in shock, some of you won’t be because uno woulda deh bout long time and remember seh mi did always tell uno seh I have a mission here. The mission from day one was not to wrestle against flesh and blood and fire nuh shot offa no man and nuh man fire no shot offa me. It was to wrestle against narratives. That’s what I’ve really been at war with this whole time, false narratives,” he explained.
“We’ve tackled a thousand different narratives on this platform but the one most important to me was always the one dem surrounding crime, surrounding culture,” he continued.
Noting that he could continue creating videos until his final days, Sir P said, “I had a mission and as far as I am concerned that mission has now been accomplished.”
“When time mi hear regular people in the streets a talk, yard and abroad…When mi inna some barbershop in a foreign land and mi hear Jamaicans a talk bout 87s and mi hear Jamaicans a talk bout how a minority of 87s a commit the majority of crimes, and mi hear Jamaicans a talk bout things that were not mainstream before…When you hear people inna New York, people all over Uncle Sam place, people inna other Caribbean islands a talk and dem sound exactly like how me sound, my job here is finished,” Sir P explained.
“Those narratives were holding back Jamaica from real progress especially in crime fighting. The argument that thousands of youth a dead fi hungry and have to kill to survive and the social intervention and blah, dem sumn dead…can’t tell when last mi hear dem foolishness deh.”
Adding that 2025 was the “best year of crime in decades” completely overshadowed by Hurricane Melissa which struck Jamaica on October 28, Sir P said, “It’s time for a new mission. I can’t die a blogger boy…And that mission has already started…It’s time for me to do more and talk less.”
The announcement left many of his followers disappointed.
“Yoo Sir P, don’t do this this. We need you,” one user wrote.
“Jah kno Sir P, this really hurt me to the core, but as they said, all good things must come to an end,” commented another.
Despite the surprising news, fans expressed heartfelt gratitude for his work over the years.
“Thank you for your outstanding service over the years Sir P!!” one viewer wrote.
“Your work will never go in vane Sir P. Big up yourself every time…you are a hero to the Jamaica people dem,” added another.
