Man slapped with multiple charges including murder
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 25-year-old man has been charged with murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and making use of a firearm to commit a felony following the shooting death of a man at his home on March 2.
The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Rohan Smith, otherwise called ‘Alvin’ of Raphael Avenue, Kingston 13.
Charged is 25-year-old Nicoye Waldron, otherwise called ‘Bun Dog,’ of Walker crescent, Kingston 11.
According to police reports, about 4:10 am, Smith was awakened by a knock on his door. He reportedly went to make checks and was attacked by Waldron and his accomplices, who opened several shots at him. The men then made their escape in the area.
Following the shooting, the police were alerted, and on their arrival, Smith was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Further investigation into the matter led to Waldron being taken into custody. He was subsequently charged after a statement implicating him was recorded.
His court date is being finalised.
