Gwen Stefani, Shelton show support for Sean Paul’s Faith We A Keep

...song dedicated to Hurricane Melissa relief efforts

Recording artistes and celebrity couple Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, lead singer of the ska, reggae, rocksteady, and pop group No Doubt, have amplified their voices in support of international recording artiste Sean Paul’s latest single Faith We A Keep.

Released on December 12, and produced by Dutty Rock Productions, Faith We A Keep is dedicated to the people of Jamaica as the nation continues to heal from the devastating effects of Hurricane Melissa. It was released at a time when hope, unity, and collective resilience are w most.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday, Shelton, one of country music’s top-selling acts wrote: “My buddy @duttypaul just put out this song and is raising money with Food For The Poor Jamaica to bring relief to those affected by the hurricane that hit Jamaica in October. Check it out and give if you can to help them rebuild their homes and community.”

Stefani, who collaborated with Sean Paul and Shenseea on the 2022 song Light My Fire (from Sean Paul’s Grammy-nominated album Scorcha) posted on her Instagram stories several hours later.

“This song Faith We A Keep by my friend @duttypaul is helping to raise money to support families affected by the hurricane. If you can, please give and help them rebuild their homes and community,” the post read.

Shelton has released 13 studio albums, four extended plays, five compilation albums, and 54 singles (including five as a featured artiste). According to Recording Industry Association of America, Shelton has sold 52 million singles and 13 million albums in the United States. He also has achieved 29 #1 hits on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and 14 #1 hits on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Billboard ranked him as the 31st Top Artist of the 2010s decade.

Stefani is a solo recording artiste who has scored hits including Hollaback Girl, Sweet Escape (with Akon), and Rich Girl. As the lead singer of No Doubt, she collaborated with Lady Saw and Bounty Killer on Underneath It All and Hey Baby, respectively. Both songs were produced by Sly and Robbie and featured on No Doubt’s Rock Steady album.

Another track from Rock Steady, Start the Fire, was produced by Steely and Clevie.

Stefani also collaborated with Damian Marley for a remix of her hit Now That You Got It from her sophomore solo album The Sweet Escape. The song rose to #59 on the UK Singles chart in 2007.

No Doubt’s 2012 album Push and Shove featured Busy Signal on the title track.

Faith We A Keep serves as both a prayer and a declaration of strength. The song also reflects Sean Paul’s personal commitment to relief efforts through the Sean Paul Foundation, which has been actively distributing food and building supplies, providing support, and engaging communities across heavily impacted parishes.

“Faith We A Keep is for every Jamaican holding on, rebuilding, and believing in a brighter tomorrow. Our strength is unmatched, and together we will rise again,” Sean Paul shared in a release from his publicist Destine Media. “This song is my prayer, my encouragement, and my tribute to the resilience of our people.”
