Volunteers bring holiday cheer to Hanover Infirmary
The Hanover Infirmary serves as a vital home and care facility for some of the most vulnerable members of society — a place where compassion, dignity, and human connection are essential every day.
For the holiday season, CB Foods brought those values to life through its belief that good food is made to share, hosting its second annual Christmas luncheon to spread warmth, joy, and togetherness among residents.
On December 18 the giveback initiative was led by the Copperwood Pork production team members of the CB Group Do Good Crew and formed part of the group’s ongoing commitment to giving back through meaningful community outreach. Volunteers gave their time to create a festive atmosphere, sharing moments of connection and care with residents of the home, a release from the team said.
CB Foods supported the luncheon by partnering with local caterers and providing CB Chicken and Caribbean Passion Chicken Ham, ensuring residents enjoyed a warm, celebratory Christmas meal prepared with care.
In addition to the luncheon, the group also donated essential supplies, including water, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, and other necessities, supporting both immediate needs and overall well-being.
Matron of the Hanover Infirmary Kayon Dyer welcomed the initiative and highlighted its impact on residents.
“Initiatives like this are incredibly important and uplifting for our residents,” said Dyer. “The infirmary cares for some of the most vulnerable members of our society, and moments like these bring genuine joy, laughter, and a sense of belonging. It reassures our residents that they are seen, valued, and truly cared for.
“From singing Christmas carols and dancing together to enjoying the tasty meals, it was a truly special experience that lifted everyone’s spirits,” she said.
Kaydia Rowe, CB Group Do Good Crew member and plant manager at Copperwood Pork, shared insight into the team’s involvement.
“This initiative was about showing up with intention and heart,” Rowe said. “I coordinated the volunteer team, assigned roles, managed donation logistics, and helped create the programme for the carol singing.
“Despite the challenges brought on by Hurricane Melissa, our volunteers were grateful for the opportunity to give back. Many shared that the experience gave them perspective and reminded them of how much there is to be thankful for. Being able to positively impact lives, especially during the Christmas season, was truly meaningful for all of us,” Rowe said.
At its core, the initiative reflects the group’s broader purpose of making a difference. The release said supporting the Hanover Infirmary Christmas Luncheon underscores the belief that community care begins at home, and that meaningful impact is created when people show up meaningfully.
Nicole Hall, senior manager, commercial marketing at CB Foods, emphasised the importance of continuing the tradition.
“This marks the second year that CB Group has supported the Hanover Infirmary during the Christmas season, and we’re proud to continue building on that tradition,” Hall said. “Beyond providing essential items and hosting the Christmas luncheon through our CB Foods brands, what matters most is taking the time to connect and share meaningful moments with the residents. Our theme this season is ‘Good Food Made to Share’, and initiatives like this bring that to life, using food to create connection, comfort, and joy when it matters most.”
Hall noted that initiatives like this reflect the heart of the group’s purpose.
“At CB Group, our purpose is simple: To make a difference,” Hall said. “Through the Do Good Crew, our team continues to show up for communities in meaningful ways. Whether it’s a meal, a conversation, or a moment shared, these initiatives remind us that impact is created when people come together with care.”
