Man found dead at crash scene was murdered
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Information has now indicated that, contrary to earlier information which suggested that Christopher Clarke died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash on Saturday morning, he was in fact the victim of a homicide.
On Saturday about 8:00am, Clarke, who was driving a Nissan Tiida motor car, had hit a utility pole, and the vehicle subsequently overturned.
He was found lying on the ground by firefighters who were called to the scene. He was subsequently taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
However subsequently, according to an officer familiar with the investigation, Clarke was actually stabbed prior to his death.
“We are treating this as a homicide,” the officer said.
Clarke, it is being reported, had been stabbed by an unknown assailant and was in the process of driving himself to the hospital when the vehicle collided with the utility pole.
