Racing United rally to earn point with 1–1 draw with Arnett Gardens in JPL
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica Premier League leaders Racing United rallied to earn a point after they played out a 1-1 draw against Arnett Gardens at the Anthony Spaulding Complex on Monday.
The draw extended Racing United’s unbeaten run to six games as they took over sole leadership of the competition with 27 points, one more than Montego Bay United, with Portmore United on 25 points, and Mount Pleasant FA tied with Cavalier SC on 22 points each.
Arnett Gardens, meanwhile, are still in 11th position on 13 points, winless in three games and just above the relegation zone. Fabian Reid gave Arnett Gardens the lead in the 67th minute, but Tajay Grant salvaged a point when he scored in the 74th minute.
In an earlier game played at the Edward Seaga Complex, Tivoli Gardens avenged a first-round loss when they beat Chapelton Maroons 2-0, snapping a two-game losing skid and elbowed Waterhouse FC out of sixth place.
Rodico Wellington scored in the 32nd minute to give the home team the lead before Justin Dunn came off the bench in the 80th minute to score in time added.
