You’re My Sweetie scores first win in style
After 13 starts with some close finishes, You’re My Sweetie has finally found her winning formula. The Gary Subratie trainee was able to get her in front in a maiden condition race for native-bred three-year-old fillies at Caymanas Park on Friday, December 26, 2025.
Ridden by Dane Dawkins, the three-year-old filly You’re My Sweetie (Bern Identity – Mom Rules) dominated the 6-furlong (1,200m) contest in a time of 1:16.4 (23.4 x 49.2) and winning by 7 ¾ lengths.
You’re My Sweetie employed a smart waiting game to secure her maiden win. She settled mid-pack at the off as BadBadTanesha (Tevin Foster) led the way ahead of Last Possession (Raddesh Roman), Life is Light (Anthony Allen), and Baby Grey (Ramon Nepare).
Last Possession took control of the race heading into the half-mile (800m) turn while You’re My Sweetie steadily closed ground on the leaders. Turning for home, You’re My Sweetie unleashed a powerful surge on the outside of runners and powered past rivals in deep stretch, winning comfortably at the wire.
Last Possession finished second and Life is Life came home in third place.
