Traffic changes announced for Black River fireworks festival
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — The St Elizabeth police are advising the public of temporary road closures and traffic changes to facilitate the safe staging of the Black River fireworks festival on Wednesday, December 31.
According to the police, the High Street and Exchange Drive intersection as well as the High Street and School Street intersection are closed effective 8:00 am on Wednesday.
For the High Street and Exchange Drive intersection, traffic is being diverted north along Exchange Drive with access being granted to pedestrians and authorised persons only.
For the High Street and School Street intersection, traffic is being diverted north along School Street with access being granted to pedestrians and authorised persons only.
Meanwhile, traffic diversions are as follows:
— Exchange Drive: Two-way traffic is to be diverted north along Exchange Drive, onto Lovers Lane, then onto Central Road; and
— School Street: Two-way traffic is to be diverted north along School Street Drive, onto Central Road and onto Lovers Lane.
Motorists are being asked to comply with the instructions of the police.
