Kevin Downswell shares his wish for Jamaica in 2026
Gospel artiste and minister, Kevin Downswell says his wish for Jamaica in 2026 is for Jamaicans to focus more on God.
The You Make Me Stronger singer told Observer Online on Thursday, shortly after a spiritual performance at the Funfest event at Hope Gardens, that the things people chase will eventually vanish.
“My wish for Jamaicans is to focus on God. You’ll never lose. The Bible says seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and al. So the things that we’re chasing after I want us to realise that those will vanish, but God said, put your eyes on me, put your focus on me and watch everything else come together. That’s my hole and my prayer for Jamaica,” said Downswell.
Last year, he released the book Midnight to Victory: 90 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer and Breakthrough, which was a best-seller on Amazon.
He was also conferred with the Order of Distinction in the rank of Officer during the Investiture and Presentation of National Honours and Awards 2025 at King’s House in October.
