Police seize ammo on Dyke Road, Portmore

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica— Police assigned to the St Catherine South Police Division seized a total of 93 assorted rounds of ammunition on Dyke Road, St Catherine, on Friday, January 2.

Reports from the Portmore police are that about 5:30 am, a police team on patrol observed a man on the roadway acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion.

Upon the approach of the lawmen, the man reportedly ran, leaving behind a plastic bag he was carrying.

The bag was retrieved, and a search of it revealed forty-three .22 cartridges, forty 9mm cartridges, six .38 cartridges, and four 12-gauge cartridges.

No one was arrested in connection to the seizure.

Investigation is ongoing.
