Daniel John buzzing with ‘Mixed Signals’
Fast-rising recording artiste Daniel John has many reasons to smile of late, considering the fact that he has scored a buzzing single.
The multi-genre singer has been gaining much attention following the release of his single entitled Mixed Signals, which has been steadily climbing the musical ladder locally and internationally.
John, who describes his sound as a melting pot of reggae, R&B, pop and hip hop, says he is feeling extremely confident about the prospects of the song becoming a mainstream hit. Many musical pundits share the same sentiments about his latest release, including several local influencers who have been resharing his content.
The artiste was recently featured on mainstream radio programmes on Zip FM and Sun City radio. His single has been added to several popular dancehall mixtapes and has also become a staple in local parties.
John is currently based in the United States (US) and grew up in a musical family. As the son of a recording artiste and producer, he believes he was destined to become an artiste because he caught the musical bug at a tender age.
“My dad was a former reggae artist and currently is a producer. When I was a kid, I remember seeing him playing the keyboard in the basement and handing out his mixtapes at the block parties. He also put the alto sax in my hand and I’ve been playing since I was six. I was always musically inclined, playing in the band all throughout grade school, but I didn’t start taking music seriously until about 2017 when I told my dad that I wanted to make a song with and for him. The first song I ever made was called Hello Dad, and the rest is history,” he shared.
Currently, the artiste is busy promoting Mixed Signals, as well as recording for a plethora of producers
