SVREL brings Caymanas Park production in-house
...company acquires broadcast equipment and staff from now-closed SportsMax
SUPREME Ventures Racing & Entertainment Limited has acquired broadcast and production equipment from long-standing broadcast partner
Sportsmax and taken on key technical staff from the now-closed company, as it brings operations at Caymanas Park in-house.
The move follows the cessation of operations in August 2025 by Sportsmax, which had provided third-party broadcast and production services to Caymanas Park since 2018. With its former service provider no longer operating, the company said it evaluated its options before deciding to internalise the function.
According to Supreme Ventures, the acquisition of infrastructure and personnel represents the most practical path forward, allowing the company to maintain continuity in broadcast operations while bringing a critical component of the racing product under direct control.
“The decision to bring broadcast and production in-house aligns with our long-term approach to building a more efficient and sustainable operation,” executive chairman of Caymanas Park, Solomon Sharpe said in a press statement. He added that the shift would strengthen the company’s ability to manage quality and respond more quickly to operational needs.
The company said the transition is expected to improve operational control and flexibility, with projected cost savings of approximately 25 per cent over time. Management also pointed to potential opportunities to expand production services and develop additional revenue streams, though no timelines or financial targets were disclosed.
SVREL did not provide details on the value of the broadcast equipment acquired from
Sportsmax, the number of staff absorbed into the in-house operation, or how the acquisition was financed. The company also did not indicate when the transition would be fully completed.
Since becoming the sole promoter of local horse racing in 2017 through the lease of the Caymanas Park property, Supreme Ventures Racing & Entertainment Limited has worked to stabilise and modernise the operations of the track, placing increased emphasis on efficiency and sustainability.
Sharpe said bringing production closer to core operations is consistent with that approach, particularly as broadcast output plays a central role in how the sport is consumed by local and international audiences.
“The in-house production model is another step in the evolution of Caymanas Park. It builds on the progress we’ve made over the years and positions the operation for improved results,” he said.
SHARPE…the decision to bring broadcast and production in-house aligns with our long-term strategy of building a more efficient, flexible, and sustainable operation.
