NFA accepting applications for 2026 conch season
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Fisheries Authority (NFA) is ready to accept applications for licences to fish for conch and the allocation of individual catch quotas for the 2026 conch fishing season.
This year’s conch season begins on March 1.
A recent statement from the authority indicates that the deadline for receiving all applications for Industrial (exporters) fishers is 4:00 pm on Friday, January 30, 2026.
“For Artisanal (local trade) fishers, the deadline is 4:00 pm on Friday, January 30, 2026. All applications with all supporting documentation must be submitted at the National Fisheries Authority’s Head Office at the address given below. Applications submitted or received after the deadline will not be considered,” the statement said.
Application forms, including information packages, can be collected at the information desk in the lobby at the National Fisheries Authority at a cost of $500.00 per package.
