Over 10,000 candidates sitting January CSEC examinations across the region says Wesley
The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) has announced that over 10,000 candidates across the region are currently sitting the January 2026 CSEC examinations.
Regristrar and Chief Executive Officer at the CXC, Dr Wayne Wesley shared the information during a press conference broadcast from Jamaica via Zoom on January 7.
“These examinations commenced this past Monday and will conclude on the 29th of this month,” Wesley said.
“We are pleased to say that we are administering these January examinations on-screen, employing our digital e-assessment and hybrid e-assessment approach. It is our intention to offer all exams on-screen in the next three to five years,” he shared.
Wesley said immediately after the January session of examinations is complete, CXC will start preparations to serve the over 100,000 candidates, “who with likewise certainty and confidence, will sit over 600,000 CSEC and CAPE subject entries in the traditional May-June examinations.
