Three children among four killed in St Elizabeth/ Westmoreland border crash
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica —Three children and an adult died following a two-vehicle collision on the Crawford to Font Hill main road near the St Elizabeth/Westmoreland border on Saturday.
Police identified the deceased as Jeneen Dawkins, 30; Antwasia Ledgister, 10; a 17-year-old identified only as Ashley; and a 12-year-old whose name has not yet been released.
A police report said about 5:27 pm, a 2011 black Toyota Voxy, driven by Dawkins with the three children as passengers, collided with a 2013 white Freightliner M2 160 driven by a Canadian utility worker.
Police said the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when the Toyota Voxy, at a high rate of speed, failed to keep left and drove into the path of the oncoming motor truck, causing a collision.
The three injured girls and the woman were removed from the mangled Voxy and pronounced dead at hospital.
