Kingston man charged with murder
KINGSTON, Jamaica—A carpenter of a Kingston address has been charged in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Tyrese Harrison in the parish on February 19.
He has been identified as 22-year-old Dwight Miller, otherwise called ‘Glasses’ of 21 Payne Avenue, Kingston 11.
Miller has been charged with murder, wounding with Intent, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and using a firearm to commit a felony.
Reports from the Duhaney police are that a subsequent investigation implicated Miller in the shooting death of Tyrese Harrison.
Police were reportedly on mobile patrol in the area when they heard loud explosions and proceeded to the Payne Avenue location.
Upon their arrival, they saw a group of men who ran upon seeing the police and made good their escape in the area.
Investigation continued, and an arrest warrant was prepared for the accused after statements were recorded from the complainants and other witnesses in the incident.
Miller reportedly attended the Duhaney Park Police Station on Monday, January 12, along with his attorney, where he was arrested by the police and placed in custody.
The arrest warrant was executed on Wednesday, January 14, and Miller was charged.
A court date for him is being finalised.
