Reputed gang leader ‘Bloodstain’ charged with murder
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Courtney Ashley, otherwise called ‘Blood Stain’, the alleged reputed gang leader of the Bottom Marverly Gang, has been slapped with several charges following his arrest in the Phoenix Park community on Monday.
The 43-year-old labourer of 104 Phoenix Park Village, Phase 2, Portmore, St Catherine, and 2 Fenbrook Avenue, Maverley, Kingston 20, has been charged with murder, illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.

The charges stem from a shooting incident on Monday, November 6, 2017, on Fenbrook Avenue, Kingston 20, at approximately 7:55 pm.
Reports are that a group of men arrived at the location in a motor vehicle and opened gunfire on two men who were standing on a section of the roadway.
One man later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at hospital, while the other was admitted in serious condition.
Based on information received during the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained. Ashley was apprehended on Monday, and the warrant was subsequently executed.
He has since been charged, and the matter is now before the court.
Also charged is Dwight Miller, otherwise called ‘Glasses’, a carpenter of 21 Payne Avenue, Kingston 11.

The 22-year-old has been charged with murder, shooting with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of prohibited ammunition and using a firearm to commit a felony.
Those charges stem from a shooting incident that occurred on Monday, February 19, 2024, about 10:30 am, on Lagos Drive, Payne Land, Kingston 11.
Police, while on mobile patrol, responded to reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, a man was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was transported to hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Another man was also injured during the incident.
The scene was processed, and several items of evidential value were reportedly recovered.
Investigation continued, and an arrest warrant was prepared for the accused after statements were recorded from the complainants and other witnesses in the incident.
Miller reportedly attended the Duhaney Park Police Station on Monday, January 12, with his attorney, where he was arrested and placed in custody.
The arrest warrant was executed on Wednesday, January 14, and Miller was charged.
A court date for him is being finalised.
