Chapelton Maroons have moved into the top four of the Jamaica Premier League after edging last-placed Spanish Town Police FC in their second round game played on Sunday.

Damoi Whitfield’s goal in the 31st minute decided the game as Chapelton won their fourth game in their last five outings add improved to 25 points from 17 games, moving from eighth place.

Montego Bay United, who drew 0-0 with third-placed Portmore United at Jarrett Park, are still leaders on 36 points, three more than second-placed Racing United who came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Dunbeholden FC.

Chapelton have won four of their last five games to climb their way out of the relegation zone. They are just ahead of Mount Pleasant FA, who however have four games in hand.

At Jarrett Park, Montego Bay and Portmore played to a goal-less draw for the fourth time in five games stretching back to last season.

Racing remain undefeated in 10 games but had to come from behind against Dunbeholden who gave up a lead and had to settle for point for the second straight match. Odane Samuels gave Dunbeholden the lead after just five minutes before the dependable Tajay Grant earned a point for Racing when he scored in the 75th minute.
