Lover’s Leap Lighthouse Series returns with Tanya Stephens, Marcia Griffiths
All is in place for the Lover’s Leap Lighthouse Series in St Elizabeth on January 24. It has been dubbed as a retro reggae experience with Tanya Stephens as well as queen of the genre Marcia Griffiths as headliners.
Organisers were forced to postpone the concert after the passage of Hurricane Melissa in October 2025.
The Lover’s Leap attraction suffered immense damage, again, after rebuilding post-Hurricane Beryl in July 2024.
“I honestly feel this is the most prepared we have ever been. As you know, disaster came while we were in full preparation for October’s execution so we have had a few months to reflect and gain absolute perfection. Our aim is to start as early as two weeks before showtime so we can correct any glitches in the layout. We are giving this our best effort,” Jason Ricketts, marketing and communications director of Lover’s Leap attraction, told the Jamaica Observer.
“We are proud to have Worthy Park Select as our title sponsor who has been supportive and encouraging throughout the rebuilding process. Additionally, we are grateful for our continued partnership with Sealand Foods, Jake’s Holdings, Delect Foods, Pave-Con Ltd, Rone Creative Studios, True Colours, Glastonbury, Doclani Windows, Westpalm and Kingbala Events,” he added.
Ricketts further explained that he and the rest of the team banded together to offer support to the displaced residents of St Elizabeth following the hurricane’s passage before merging efforts to rebuild the popular tourist attraction.
“Through sleepless nights, with no electricity nor water on property, we managed to restore the attraction within six weeks post-Melissa. We opened our gates December 17, 2025 to ensure that visitors enjoy one of the most spectacular places on Earth before Christmas,” he explained.
The marketing and communications director also said that things have basically gone back to normal at the popular spot that is known for food and entertainment.
“Lover’s Leap continues to be one of the world’s favourite attractions and, of course, the most romantic place in Jamaica. Customers could not wait to spend time at our restaurant and enjoy the views of the south coast. I think people have also become attracted to our story of resilience and commitment having endured two separate hurricane crises they are now even more willing to support the business. In fact, we have had a wedding and five birthday parties since reopening, and karaoke [resumed as well]. Considering the setbacks, we are doing great,” he said.
Ricketts is encouraging Jamaicans near and far to attend what promises to be a memorable night with quality live performances.
“This highly anticipated show is not just an opportunity to see two of Jamaica’s finest musicians performing live, but this is a special all-female line-up with two amazing ladies — the rebel Tanya Stephens and Queen Marcia Griffiths. This will also be a return to regular life and normalcy for the most-affected people within the St Elizabeth space,” he said.
