WATCH: Slain cop laid to rest
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Constable Jemarey Gordon, one of the two policemen shot and killed last November on Waltham Park Road in St Andrew, was laid to rest on Saturday after a thanksgiving service at the Church of the Open Bible on Washington Boulevard in the parish.
Among the scores of mourners were family, friends, members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force and residents from his community of Oakland Road.
In his written tribute, Commissioner of Police Dr Kevin Blake said: “With heavy hearts we honour the life of our dear colleague, No. 19415 Constable Gordon… he dedicated nine years of his life to service to his country.”
He expressed condolences to Gordon’s father, mother, siblings and children.
Members of the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC), where Gordon had been assigned, and the Police Federation also paid tribute to the slain cop.

The eulogy was done by Superintendent Susan Bruce. Interment was at the Meadowrest Memorial Gardens in St Catherine. He was buried with full police honours.
Gordon and Constable Charles Stewart were shot and killed along 83 Lane, Waltham Park Road on November 13 during an altercation with several men.
Constable Stewart was laid to rest last week.
