Sections of communities in Westmoreland now have light
With the energisation of power lines leading to the National Water Commission (NWC) Roaring River Pump, customers in sections of Petersfield, sections of Waterworks, and sections of Shrewsbury Falls now have electricity.
The energisation of the lines leading to the pump was completed last week, with tests confirming that supply was provided.
The restoration of the pump required the rebuilding of over 10 miles of electricity lines from the power source at the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) Paradise substation to NWC’s Roaring River pump and over 100 linesmen on the job to push to completion.
JPS continues to rebuild the electricity network to get power to more customers in these and other communities in the parish.
